About 30 people protested in front of the Dolphinarium in Varna. Their request is for him to be imprisoned, and one of the reasons for this is the death of a baby dolphin made during a performance. The dolphinarium did not comment in front of the camera, but did publish a written position. According to them, "Dolphins inhabiting dolphinariums cannot be released into the wild because they will not adapt to it. Under dolphinarium rearing conditions, dolphins live much longer than in wild". The position also states that this is the result of constant personal care for them. "Over the first 7 months of the year alone, over 40 dead dolphins and small dolphins were thrown along the Bulgarian Black Sea coast because of entanglement in fishing nets and pollution," it reads. According to the eco inspection in Varna, the activity of the dolphinarium does not contradict the current environmental legislation. The state does not have a mechanism to close the site.
